Frequently Asked Questions

Here are a few of the questions that many guests ask from time to time…..

How close are you to the beach?

the beach

Very close.  Our stunning beach and the crystal clear, blue waters of the Gulf of Mexico are about 100 paces west of the Pelican Post – two minutes walk.

Which beach is closest to the Pelican Post?

Ask Mr Google and he will tell you there are six beaches on Anna Maria Island.  In reality, there is only one beach, five miles of fine white sand and crystal clear water with six different names;  Anna Maria beach, Holmes beach, Manatee beach, Bradenton beach, Cortez beach and Coquina beach

Do you allow pets?

No, unfortunately at this time we don’t.

Do you have a pool?

No.  We have considered it, but many of our “regulars” come to enjoy our nice quiet atmosphere and peaceful gardens so we have resisted the urge to put one in.  And remember, the beach is only a couple of minute’s walk away and the ocean is very safe for bathers who stay close in.

Do your rooms have kitchens?

studio room kitchenette

Yes, all of our units have a kitchenette (mini kitchen).  They all include a full stove, a full size fridge (one room studios have an under the counter (smaller) fridge) microwave, coffee maker and toaster.  We also have silverware, dishes etc, ample pots, pans and cooking utensils in every rooms.

Do you have smoking & non-smoking rooms?

All rooms are non-smoking.  Each room has a couple of chairs and a small table just outside the door and this is where we encourage guests to go if they want to smoke.  Ashtrays are available by request.

Are there restaurants close enough to the Pelican Post that we can walk?

How about this? At last count, there were 7 restaurants on Bridge Street, Gulf Drive and even one on the pier and all within a block in one direction or the other – plus, none are chain restaurants!  There are also 2 ice-cream parlors, and a Moose Lodge!

If I bring my boat, is there anywhere I can park?

bringing your boat?

Tell us when you make your reservation if you want to bring your boat – we have several spaces big enough for a truck with a boat trailer up to 25ft.  If you have something bigger, tell us the total length including the truck and we will see what we can do.  The nearest boat ramp is less than a mile away and you can leave the truck and trailer for free while you enjoy the gulf or the bay.
