The Pelican Post is right in the centre of old Bradenton Beach…….
Bridge street is the focus of the little seaside town of Bradenton Beach. Running east/west from the bay to the Gulf of Mexico it is barely a block long.
At the eastern end you can find the City Pier. This mainly wooden structure was first bridge to connect the island to the mainland. The current bridge was completed in 1957
Just a few feet from the Pelican Post Motel is Bridge Street, the center of our Historic Old Town. The clock tower and boardwalk are the lovely entrance to the Pier and Cafe, about 100 steps from the Pelican Post. Heading West toward the Gulf beach at the end of the street. You can’t get far from the water here!
