Historic Old Town

The Pelican Post is right in the center of old Bradenton Beach…….

Bridge street is the focus of the little seaside town of Bradenton Beach.  Running east/west from the bay to the Gulf of Mexico it is barely a block long. At the eastern end you can find the City Pier.  This mainly wooden structure was first bridge to connect the island to the mainland.  The current bridge was completed in 1957. Just a few feet from the Pelican Post Motel is Bridge Street, the center of our Historic Old Town.  About 150 paces from the Pelican Post, the clock tower and boardwalk offer a lovely entrance to the Pier and Anna Maria Oyster Bar (A lovely place to eat). Heading West towards the Gulf you’ll find the beach at the end of the street. You are never very far from the water! Only a minutes walk in either direction from our location at the Pelican Post
